No ads and no reselling of data. Your support, one-off or monthly, helps us keep it that way.
Frequently asked questions
Is askadèle free?
Yes, completely free for families, with no ads and no reselling of data. The service is funded by restaurant owners who choose to, through an optional Pro plan.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can use everything without an account: your allergies then stay on your phone. A free account lets you access them on another device, share a profile with the other parent and review restaurants.
Can I trust the result of a scan?
askadèle helps you spot allergens but does not replace reading the label: recipes change and databases can contain errors. Product information comes from Open Food Facts, a collaborative database. If in doubt, don’t eat the product.
How do I install it on my phone?
Open askadele.app/app in your browser. On iPhone: Share button, then “Add to Home Screen”. On Android: ⋮ menu, then “Install app”. The askadèle icon appears just like a regular app.
Which allergies are covered?
The 14 regulated allergens (milk, eggs, gluten, peanut, tree nuts, soya, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites, lupin), each tree nut separately, other common allergies, and any allergy you add yourself. You can also specify, allergy by allergy, whether traces are tolerated.
Is my health data protected?
Your allergies stay on your phone unless you turn on online backup. In that case, they are stored in Europe, visible only to you, never shared or resold, and you can delete them at any time. See our privacy policy.
What if my favourite restaurant isn’t in the app?
Open its listing and tap “Ask this restaurant to publish its allergens”. The more families ask, the more reason it has to do so. You can also send it a ready-made message.
Does askadèle replace my allergist’s advice?
No. askadèle is a practical everyday tool. It does not give medical advice. Always follow your doctor’s instructions, especially regarding the emergency plan and adrenaline.
Ready to eat out with more peace of mind?
