1. Purpose

askadèle is a service that helps people with allergies and their loved ones spot allergens in food products and restaurant dishes, and share useful information with those around them. Using the service implies acceptance of these terms.

2. A helpful tool, not medical advice

askadèle does not replace reading labels, the information given by the restaurant, or a doctor’s advice. Product information comes from collaborative databases (Open Food Facts) and may be incomplete, wrong or out of date with the current recipe. Dish information is declared by restaurant owners, under their own responsibility. If in doubt, don’t eat it. In the event of a severe reaction, call 15 (French emergency medical service) or 112.

3. Access to the service

The service is free for individuals and can be used without an account. Some features (backup, sharing, reviews, reading labels from photos) require a free account with a confirmed email address. We may limit certain uses (such as the number of photos read per day) to keep the service available to everyone.

4. Your commitments

You agree to provide accurate information, to publish only honest reviews based on your own experience, and not to misuse the service. Reviews that are unlawful or clearly false may be removed.

5. Restaurant owners

Restaurant owners are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information they publish about their dishes and allergens, and undertake to keep it up to date. Paid plans are governed by our terms of sale. The Pro plan is a monthly or annual subscription paid by card via Stripe, renewed automatically and cancellable at any time from the restaurant dashboard: cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.

5a. Support contributions

Anyone can support askadèle with a voluntary one-off or monthly contribution, with nothing in return. As askadèle is a micro-business and not a charity, these contributions do not qualify for tax relief or a tax receipt. A monthly contribution can be stopped at any time, free of charge.

8. Changes and cancellation

You can delete your account at any time from the app. We may change the service and these terms; you will be informed of any significant changes.
