Stress-free Halloween Adèle’s homemade meal · sweets: our 4 reflexes

askadèle › Our story

It all started with Adèle

Adèle is 16. She has been allergic to many foods since childhood. Like every family in the same situation, hers learned to read every label, to ask the same questions at restaurants, to explain everything again to grandparents, to school, to friends’ parents.

Her father, Simon, wanted to bring together in a single app the habits that reassure: knowing in a second whether a product is suitable, finding a restaurant where you can eat without negotiating every dish, giving the right instructions to those around you, and always having the emergency plan at hand.

The name came naturally: askadèle, “ask Adèle”, the question you ask the person who knows her allergies better than anyone.

“I wanted an app I could give Adèle without worrying: simple, free, ad-free, and keeping her allergies on her phone.”Simon Grange, founder of askadèle and Adèle’s dad

Our principles

Free for families

Scanning, the verdict, the allergy card, compatible dishes and child mode are free and work without an account, forever.

Allergies stay on the phone

They never leave it without your explicit consent. No ads, no selling of data.

Cautious rather than reassuring

When information is missing, the app says so. It may warn when it isn’t needed, but never deliberately reassures wrongly.

Four names, one idea

The project was first called Vigie Allergie, the first prototype, then Sereineat, when restaurants came on board, then AskAdèle, launched in September 2026. Today it is written askadèle, all in lower case.

What’s next?

askadèle gets better every week, often thanks to your ideas. You can write to us at contact@askadele.app, suggest a restaurant, or become a contributor.
